Whisk(e)y is a dark or brown spirit that is made from a composite of grains such as corn, rye, wheat, malted or un-malted barley. The word whisk(e)y comes from the Gaelic phrase "Usce(or Uisge) Beatha which translates to "water of life". A very fitting name! The word whisk(e)y is spelled both with an 'e' and without.
